DOG-FRIENDLY GETAWAYS Vacation Destination: Mountains Resorts in the ranges that welcome your mutt!
...continued BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS BARKWELLS Barkwells has grown from one cabin to five in three short years. The last cabin will sleep up to six people, as well as their pups. Each cabin has a dog door, gated porch, doge beds and bowls, and a private fenced yard. Poop bags and dog towels are supplied, as well. For the two-legged guests, each luxurious and fully equipped cabin has central heat and air, at least one king-sized bed, a fireplace and a hot tub on the porch along with satellite TV and wireless Internet service.
The concept behind Barkwells ws to cater to people who want to travel or vacation with their pets. The reality is that the dogs "get it," when they realize a freedom they have never enjoyed before, their exhiliration is contagious and their parents are happy, too. "With the creature comforts provided," Ellen says, "guests are free to ponder the important questions in lifle, like, 'Can you throw the ball farther for the dog from the hammock by the creek or from the porch rocker?'"
