MY FAVORITE TRAVEL BUDDY

For me, vacations just aren't as fun if I have to leave my 80-pound baby at home.  Dexter knows how to make a good trip great—he's thrilled by each hotel room, awed by every new walking path and moved to wiggles by each person he meets.  He's a charming traveling compaion (not to mention an excellent spooner), and nothing makes me happier than exploring the world with him by my side.

In this very special anniversary issue of Doggie Aficionado, we are thrilled to introduce you to a multitude of pooch-friendly vacations from a weekend hiatus at an elegant resort to a multi-week cruise on a private yacht.  These days, traveling with your pup and traveling well are not mutually exclusive endeavors, and it is our pleasure to showcase the luxury trips you and your dog with both howl over.

Also in this issue, we sat down with Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan, to get his advice on how we Doggie Aficioandos can be the best pet parents possible.  Our staff also scoured the stores to find the cutest and most durable outdoor furniture for dogs (check out the luxe canopy bed—it's fit for royalty!) We even worked with the country's top doggie designers to gather the best summer fashions for pups; when you feast your eyes on the adorble outfits on our pages, you'll probably do what I did and take your pup on a shopping spree!

We at Doggie Aficionado are so proud of this anniversary issue, and we're even more proud of the support you have give us througout our first year.  Your letters, e-mails and calls telling us how much you love our magazine have meant the world to us, and Dexter, Charm, Jazz and the rest of the Doggie Aficionado pooches also send their wettest licks for your kindness.  As we embark on our second year, we'll continue
our mission of showcasing the places, products and people who understand that our beloved pups deserve to
enjoy life's finest things.  After all, a designer briefcase simply isn't as marvelous without a matching leash
for your pup, and a five-star vacation just isn't the same unless your favorite traveling buddy is by your side.
